New Strategies for Network marketing

Network Marketing Strategies Need Change:

Marketing strategies for MLM, Network Marketing or Affiliate Marketing, whatever you would like to term it as, has changed over the period. And it had to. It is no ways possible for strategies for any form of marketing or promotion to remain the same. Not atleast in the current market, given the existence of not only different channels of promotion but also considering the various channels of exchanging ideas between the end consumer themselves. Forums, discussion boards, newspaper reviews, comments, blogs, etc. You name a product or a service and one can find all the necessary info about it.

Today's customer, or end user, has grown more aware and cautious. They think, analyze and scrutinize a product before buying it. Which from the consumer's point of view was required. It was important and necessary for him to be more aware of his needs, his wants and most importantly, the application of the product and its cost effectiveness.

In todays marketing world, its not possible to fool a customer to buy anything by boasting or lying about the quality, cost effectiveness, usage or public acceptance of the product. Even I, as a customer would not take the words of a marketer when it comes to the products quality or acceptability. Be it a retail marketing, media, print publications, or online marketing. People do research work before making a decision. So lying or boasting about your product or service, is plain simple useless when pitching to a customer.

Given the history of MLM and Network Marketing, I mean the way people have burnt their hands by just blindly and foolishly believing what others said and made them believe, they are not at all receptive to Network or Affiliate Marketers anymore.

So in other words, the market for Network Marketing has changed completely. No longer can you approach someone, especially a complete stranger and pitch your product to him, trying to convince him to buy it and become a part of the network which would eventually give an income earning opportunity to him. Firstly, why should he believe you? You are a complete stranger. Then, your claims of the products great acceptance and the great income generating capability that the system are not proven to him. He hasn't experienced it personally so why should he go by your words. And if he had, he possibly would have been a part of it already. So the only two possibilities are, either he has never heard of the product or, he has heard about it but doesn't believe in it. As I mentioned earlier, today's customers have grown very cautious, especially when it comes to products and companies involved in Network Marketing. No longer can you expect someone to get convinced by just your words and your claims. And the worst you can do in this situation is push the customer and try harder to convince him and get him to sign up. This just ends up making the customer even more anti towards your product.

Like mentioned earlier, you need to change your marketing strategy with the changing times and the ever changing target market. Firstly you need to identify your target market. Doing that is a difficult task. You might find two sets of people in the same house, same family. One anti Network Marketing and one pro it. And you trying to identify them by approaching each and everyone personally would be useless and more often then not, embarrassing for you.

So what do you do? How do you market? And what is the strategy you need to apply? Instead of you approaching the target market, let them approach you. Most of you have surely heard of this and quite a lot have followed it aswell. But most of the times it does not work out. We all know that. But why doesn't it work out then? And what is the next correct step that one needs to take to convert this prospective lead into a recruit? The reason why most of the Network Marketers fail even after being approached by a prospective lead, is because they do the same mistake. They pitch.

Nobody can get a sale unless pitched for the product. But is this whats done when approached by the lead? No. The marketer fails because instead of talking about the product and its usability, he starts pitching on the income generating capabilities of the program. Its important to understand that unless the customer is convinced about the product he would not be convinced that this product can help him get more recruits. So what needs to be done is pitch the product. Best is to show the product functional. Best would be to have the customer reaearch on the products usability on his own. And if he has a query or a doubt, let him approach you. And if he doesn't then consult with him to check how did he find the product and if he has any doubts. Don't forget, the moment you start sounding insistent, he would start stepping back. In todays market for Network Marketing, you cannot afford to get insistent. Let the lead decide to go for a sale.

For a customer to be convinced by the product and the program, its important that the product is inexpensive, very cost effective, has good usability and is made easily available. Instant delivery is what a customer would expect. At the same time, he would be more keen on knowing the credibility of the company promoting it. More well known the company is with a good track record and market identity, it would be easier for the customer or the lead to decide in the favour of the program.

One such example is Global Domains International. The company deals with selling and hosting web domains, which can ofcourse be made out by their name itself.

Their product, that they selling is the web domain and its hosting services. Availability of the product is instant and product can be put to use. Being online marketing, you can use this website itself to promote yourself. So it has good usability. Monthly fees is a mere $10 so its cost effective and the commission is 10% for each of your downline every month until the fifth level. The kind of return capabilities that the program carries, investment of just $10 per month sounds great. Other then the monthly fees of $10, there's no other charges. Most importantly, no exorbitant upfront joining fees. They don't charge you for signing up. You start paying $10 per month after your 7 day trial is over. So the conclusion is, the income generating capabilities are equally good. You can check it here.

Global Domain claims to be ranked 37th in the Inc. Magazines Top 50 Companies list. I personally couldn't cross verify that as I couldn't lay my hands on that specific Inc. Magazines issue which had the list. But while researching its credibility, I found them listed on Yahoo! Finance with its yearly financial achievements. I also found them listed on Hoovers.com.

Global Domain has clients like Cisco Systems, Intel, ATSo&T, Yahoo!, JC Penny, UPS, eBay, Wells Fargo, Bank Of America, Bloomberg, etc. So the company holds good credibility in the market aswell.

Being a Network Marketer, you also need to remember this. Like any other marketing, you cannot expect results without hardwork and efforts. You have to promote yourself and make your presence felt. Having your own website makes it a little easier, but unless you market yourself you would not be noticed. Which can be done by PPC campaigns or by networking at social sites, blogs, forums, etc. Avoid spamming and never violate rules of any website. That would hamper your marketing efforts a lot.

In short, to be a successful Network Marketer, one needs to understand the current target market trends and prepare the marketing strategy accordingly. In current times, you cannot afford to be insistent and push a customer for a sale. You just promote yourself and let the customer contact you. Always remember to leave your contact details, in a way that is visible. This would encourage your prospective lead to contact you.
